HANSAmed Extraction Socket Management

Straightforward Approach

Late implant placement

Late implant placement is a proven and reliable treatment option. Implant placement at a later time-point (6-8 months post extraction) improves wound healing, facilitates soft tissue management, and simplifies surgery.  Ridge preservation procedures conducted immediately following tooth extraction minimize bone resorption and therefore preserve ridge volume until implant placement.

Clinical case: Ridge preservation with biomaterials for late implant placement.

Case by Dr. Byung-Do, Seoul, Korea: Status following atraumatic extraction of tooth 18.
Case by Dr. Byung-Do, Seoul, Korea: Filling of the extraction socket up to the level of the crestal bone level using Geistlich Bio-Oss Collagen®.
Case by Dr. Byung-Do, Seoul, Korea: Application of the Geistlich Bio-Gide® membrane over the defect.
Case by Dr. Byung-Do, Seoul, Korea: Newly formed hard tissue 6 months post-operatively. Geistlich Bio-Oss Collagen® is not visible.
Case by Dr. Byung-Do, Seoul, Korea: Radiographic view after implant placement.

Geistlich Bio-Oss Collagen® and Geistlich Bio-Gide® membrane provide the new bone formation1 needed for effective and safe implant placement.
